A species of ornamental climbing plant. In Poland, it is grown only as a cultivated plant. It grows up to 10 meters in length. Thick, weakly twining shoots, but they attach to walls and rocks using numerous adventitious roots. It has attractive trumpet-shaped flowers, 6-8 cm long. They bloom from July to September. The fruit of the trumpet vine is an unattractive, hanging, elongated capsule. It grows best in warm, sunny locations, sheltered from the wind. It prefers moderately fertile, well-drained soils with a neutral pH. The plant is not fully frost-resistant, but if it freezes, it regenerates easily.
Trumpet vines are strong climbers that bloom in the summer. They climb excellently with the help of aerial rootlets and slightly twining shoots. This is an American variety with dark red trumpet-shaped flowers. It can reach a height of 6-10m, and the annual growth is 1-4m.
Application: It is perfect for various gates, trellises, poles, columns, pergolas, gazebos, fences, or house walls. It creates decorative hedges.
Flowering: It blooms from July to September. The flowers are dark red in color and decorative. The flower size is 6-8cm. The flowers develop abundantly in 4-12-flowered clusters, located at the ends of the current year's growth. They do not have a scent. The first flowers appear in the second or third year after planting. The leaves are decorative, green in color, turning yellow in autumn.
Care: Requires a warm, sunny position. It tends to freeze in winter, but regenerates quickly.
Pruning: As needed.
