The thornless blackberry is a perennial fruit shrub that has become very popular in Poland. It is frost-resistant and spreads easily. This variety does not require supports or trellises and grows up to 1.5 m. The fruits are medium-sized and very juicy. It fruits from the end of July until the end of September. Prefers sunny or partially shaded sites with fertile, moderately moist, slightly acidic soil.
The thornless blackberry is a perennial fruit shrub that has become very popular in Poland in recent years. It is frost-resistant and spreads easily. It produces long fruiting shoots and grows up to 3–5 m. This is a thornless variety, which increases its attractiveness. Annual growth is 0.5–1.2 m.
Use: The fruits have wide applications in medicine. They can be eaten fresh or used for various preserves: jams, juices and jellies. One shrub can yield up to 15 litres of fruit. They cleanse the body of toxins. Blackberry shrubs are suitable for any garden.
Flowering and fruiting: It flowers from June to August. The flowers are white or light pink. The plant fruits very abundantly. The berries are large, very tasty, juicy, shiny and firm. It fruits throughout August.
Care: In autumn, remove the shoots from supports, lay them on the ground and cover with agrotextile, straw or similar materials. Otherwise, it has no special requirements. Blackberries need a sunny site and do not tolerate overly wet or waterlogged soil. Plant with 1–1.5 m spacing. Plants should be grown on supports.
Pruning: During the growing season, regular pruning is required, especially after harvest.
