Purple Fountain Grass 'Shenandoah' - This is an ornamental grass with an upright growth habit and slightly arching leaf tips. It grows up to 100-120 cm during flowering. The leaves are initially green, but turn red in the summer. Around the end of July and early August, the grass flowers - the flower head is light, airy, and delicate. The color of the leaves changes under the influence of sunlight, with faster coloration occurring in sunnier spots. The flower head remains decorative until winter.

The grass dies back in winter and overwinters as a clump of roots. Old flower heads should be cut off in March. Purple fountain grass thrives in sunny locations with humus-rich, slightly moist soil. It is drought-resistant and does not tolerate over-watering. Due to its good winter hardiness and low maintenance, it is recommended for planting in urban areas and parks. It is suggested to plant 3-5 plants per square meter. In spring or autumn, cut the shoots back low.
