One of the most striking Polish ornamental crabapple varieties, admired for its play of colours and graceful form. It grows moderately fast, reaching about 4–5 m in height and forming a dense, rounded crown that becomes increasingly picturesque with age. The leaves are delicate, oval and finely serrated; in spring they are bright red, turning greenish‑burgundy in summer, with a soft pinkish underside. In sunlight, the crown shimmers with warm tones, creating a highly decorative effect. In May, the tree is covered with large pink‑red flowers that gradually lighten, forming a pastel cloud of colour. In autumn, numerous small, deep burgundy fruits appear and remain on the branches until winter, adding charm and serving as natural food for birds. Cultivation: Undemanding, frost‑ and drought‑resistant; prefers moderately fertile, well‑drained soil and sunny positions; tolerates urban conditions and occasional dryness. Use: Perfect for home gardens, parks and urban greenery; excellent as a solitary specimen or in decorative compositions; fruits are edible and suitable for preserves and liqueurs.
