A beautiful, perennial shrub with an upright and spreading habit. It grows up to 2 - 3 meters. The leaves are covered with white down on the underside and fall off in winter. It is called the butterfly bush because the beautiful and intense fragrance of the flowers attracts butterflies, which densely cover the flower clusters. It requires covering in winter.

The Buddleia flowers from June to October on new growth. A characteristic feature of the Buddleia flower is the orange "eye" in the center of the flower. The target height is up to 2 meters.

The plant is easy to establish and does not require special care. When purchased in a container, it can be planted when the soil is not frozen (practically from March to November). The shrub grows well in well-drained, fertile, clayey-sandy, slightly moist soil with a pH close to neutral. During dry periods, Buddleia requires watering.

The position should be sunny and warm because Buddleia is not fully frost-resistant. Before winter, the plant should be covered, preferably by heaping soil, bark, sawdust, or leaves around the base of the shrub.

Buddleia grows very quickly, and even if all of its above-ground parts freeze, it can still bloom profusely in the same year. During the growing season, the shrub should be fertilized 2–3 times with fertilizers for flowering plants. In early spring, before the plant begins to grow, it is recommended to prune the shrub back to about 20 cm above the ground. A Buddleia pruned this way will branch well and bloom profusely.
