Juneberry is a plant growing in the form of a shrub. It reaches a height of about 2–3 m. It is fully frost-hardy and very productive. The variety is relatively resistant to diseases and pests and is self-pollinating.
Use: Suitable for home gardens, unusual berry gardens, natural and trimmed hedges, urban greenery, parks and city gardens, as well as fruit plantations.
Flowering and fruiting: It blooms in April with small white flowers. The first fruits appear at the turn of July and August. The fruits are gathered in loose clusters and have a sweet, aromatic flavour. It usually starts bearing fruit already one year after planting. Up to 10 kg of fruit can be harvested from one shrub. The fruits are dark purple with a waxy bloom.
Care: The shrub is suitable for average soils. The position should be sunny or semi-shaded.
Pruning: It does not require heavy pruning. Only diseased or dry shoots should be removed.
