Carex comans ‘Bronco’ forms a dense clump of arching, very fine and delicate leaves in a distinctive brown color, growing up to 40–50 cm in height. In late spring, inflorescences appear on thin stems, arranged in greenish-brown spikes. In autumn, the plant takes on a reddish-brown hue. It is undemanding, highly resistant to diseases, and fully frost-hardy. It prefers sunny or semi-shaded positions, sheltered from strong winds. No pruning is required in spring. This decorative plant can be used in various plantings: terraces, flower beds, pond edges, naturalistic plantings, groupings, home gardens, or containers.
