The Sedge Prairie Fire is a grass with very thin leaves, green at the base and turning fiery orange (brick red) from the middle. The tips are characteristically twisted. It grows up to 45 cm in height.
This Sedge is not a demanding plant, preferring moist, well-drained soils. It thrives in a warm or partially shaded position, protected from strong and cold winds. The grass is not fully frost-resistant, so it is advisable to cover it in winter, especially young plants. You can use spruce branches, dry leaves, or sawdust. Remember that during winter, it does not tolerate excessive watering. The roots start to rot, and the plant dies.
This Sedge is suitable for planting in pots on the terrace or balcony, as well as in gravel gardens and rockeries.
