The climbing rose Indigoletta is an interesting variety whose flower color changes depending on the pH of the soil.

Planting: Before planting, soak the roots of the Indigoletta climbing rose in a bucket of water for one night. Carefully dig the soil and prepare a planting hole so that the roots can be freely spread out. Roses should be planted at a depth where the grafting point (the swollen part) from which the shoots grow is about 5 cm below the soil surface. Roses planted near walls require more attention because the soil near foundations is usually poor, which should be enriched with good soil and well-rotted manure. The rose should be planted at a distance of about 20-30 cm from the wall.

Position: Sunny.

Soil requirements: The soil should be rich in nutrients and slightly moist. Heavy soils should be loosened by adding organic materials such as compost and sand. Roses grow well on fresh, but well-drained soils. They are not very demanding in terms of soil pH, which should range from 4.5 to 7.

Pruning roses: In early spring, after removing the soil mounds, only damaged shoots, those affected by diseases, and frozen tips should be cut. Occasionally, dense or old shoots can be cut to the ground to shape the shrub. It is also necessary to remove the fruits.
