This shrub has large, white flowers on stiff stems. It is perfect for cut flowers. This rose prefers a warm, sunny, and airy location, sheltered from strong and cold winds. The soil should be fertile, loamy-sandy, rich in humus, and slightly acidic. This shrub is suitable for flower beds and borders.
Usage: For planting in groups, on flower beds, and borders; ideal for rustic-style gardens. Grown for cut flowers.
Cultivation and care: Sunny, well-ventilated location to allow the plant to dry quickly. The soil should be deeply cultivated, not compacted, humus-rich, and sandy-loamy. Very light soil should be enriched with compost or well-decomposed manure, while heavy soil should be mixed with sand or compost. During dry periods, the rose needs regular watering without wetting the leaves. For abundant flowering, the rose requires fertilization in the spring. Mulching with a thick layer of compost, straw, decomposed sawdust, or decomposed bark of coniferous trees is recommended. It is also advisable to mound the base of the stems for winter protection, up to 20-30 cm in height, using garden soil or decomposed compost.
Flowering: White flowers. Flowering occurs in June and continues abundantly until late autumn.
Pruning: In spring, to promote branching and stimulate abundant flowering, the rose should be trimmed to about one-third of its height. For older 'Mount Shasta' rose shrubs, old and dead stems should also be carefully removed.
