The 'Westerland' rose is a very vigorous, perennial variety. It grows up to about 3-5 meters in height and about 1.5-2.5 meters in width. Its growth is quite strong, about 1 meter per year. It has high frost resistance. This variety is resistant to diseases and Polish climatic conditions.
The 'Westerland' variety is exceptionally resistant to diseases. It grows as a large shrub, over 2 meters tall and 1.5 meters wide. However, when trained on a support, it reaches about 2 meters.
Application: Its use is versatile. It will look great as a solitary plant in single plantings. It can be shaped into a low climber. It will beautifully decorate both walls and fences.
Blooming: The flowers are large, about 11 cm, grouped in clusters, with a semi-double flower form. The flowers have a spicy aroma. They are orange-scarlet-salmon in color. Blooming occurs in June and repeats until late autumn. Each blooming wave lasts for a long time. It also has quite a few thorns. The shoots are thick and arch gracefully. The leaves are dark green.
Care: Requires mounding and winter protection. It grows and blooms well in partial shade.
Pruning: Pruning should be gentle, done in the spring before the growing season begins. Cut side shoots above the 3rd to 5th bud. Leave the main shoots unpruned.
