A shrub with dark purple leaves, growing quickly. The Viburnum opulus 'Red Baron' has a bushy habit, with upward-pointing shoots. The plant reaches 2 m in height and 1.5 m in width. The flowers are white with a pink hue. The fruits resemble capsules that swell and turn red. Very easy to grow, ideal for beginner gardeners.

It prefers a sunny position, sheltered from strong and cold winds, and is not demanding when it comes to soil. It also does well in poorer soils.

Viburnums can be pruned heavily as they regenerate quickly. Such treatments have a rejuvenating effect on the plant.
It is perfect for hedges.
