The Rhododendron (Azalea) 'Koningstein' is suitable for planting in home gardens, rock gardens, heathland gardens, flower beds, etc.
Flowering: The leaves are 7 to 9 cm long, dark green and glossy on the top, bare on both sides. The flowers are bell-shaped, scarlet red, with a delicate brown pattern on the upper petal, slightly wavy at the edges, 4.5 to 5.5 cm in diameter, collected in loose, terminal clusters of 3-6 flowers. It blooms relatively early, at the end of April and in the first decade of May.
Care: It requires semi-shaded or shaded positions and acidic, moderately moist, and humus-rich soils. When planting in full sun, it is necessary to use more peat in the substrate and maintain humidity to ensure more abundant blooming and optimal growth.
