A beautifully flowering evergreen shrub with a compact habit. A fast-growing variety, reaching up to about 3 meters. The plant originates from Asia. It is characterized by bell-shaped flowers, up to several centimeters in length, gathered in inflorescences (even dozens of single flowers) up to 20 cm in diameter. The inflorescences appear at the tips of the shoots.
Application: The leaves are large, leathery, shiny, and do not fall off in winter, although they may curl up in the cold. Some varieties may be covered with a light fuzz. A very healthy variety with high frost resistance.
Flowering: The shrub blooms profusely from April to May. After flowering, the inflorescences should be removed, as leaving them on the shrub weakens it. The flowers are light purple with a burgundy eye.
Care: Rhododendrons prefer loose soil mixed with peat and acidic pH. Maintain constant soil moisture. It is recommended to water them with rainwater.
Position: Rhododendrons prefer sheltered, semi-shaded, or shaded areas. When planting in full sun, a higher amount of peat should be used in the substrate, and moisture should be maintained to ensure more abundant flowering and optimal growth. They grow well when planted in groups. They can grow under large shrubs.
