A beautifully flowering evergreen shrub with a compact habit. A fast-growing variety, reaching about 1.8 m in height. The plant originates from Asia. It is characterized by bell-shaped flowers up to several centimeters long, gathered in inflorescences (even several dozen individual flowers) with a diameter of up to 20 cm. The inflorescences appear at the ends of the shoots.
Application: The leaves are large, leathery, shiny, and do not fall off in winter, but may curl into rolls in response to cold. In some varieties, they may be covered with a light fuzz.
Flowering: The shrub blooms abundantly from April to May. After flowering, the inflorescences should be removed, as leaving them on the shrub weakens it. Flowers are light pink, fading to white. The edges of the petals are wavy.
Care: Rhododendrons prefer loose soil mixed with peat, with an acidic pH. Constant soil moisture should be maintained. They should be watered with rainwater.
Position: Rhododendrons like sheltered, semi-shaded, and shaded locations. When planting in full sun, a larger amount of peat should be added to the substrate, and moisture should be maintained to ensure more abundant flowering and optimal growth. They grow well in groups and can thrive under large shrubs.
