Rhododendron / Rhododendron ‘Scarlet Wonder’ is an evergreen, dwarf shrub with a compact, hemispherical shape. The target height is about 0.7m. This variety is frost-resistant, recommended for planting in Japanese-style home gardens. Rhododendrons should be planted in slightly shaded, wind-sheltered spots. They should be planted in acidic, humus-rich, and well-drained soil. Rhododendrons are planted in spring and should be watered regularly.
Application: Suitable for planting in home gardens, rock gardens, heath gardens, flower beds, etc.
Blooming: The leaves are 7 to 9 cm long, dark green and glossy on top, bare on both sides. The flowers are bell-shaped, scarlet red, with a delicate brown pattern on the upper petal, slightly wavy at the edges, 4.5 to 5.5 cm in diameter, gathered in loose, terminal inflorescences of 3 to 6 flowers. It blooms relatively early, at the end of April and in the first decade of May.
Care: Requires partially shaded or shaded positions and acidic, moderately moist, humus-rich soils. When planting in full sun, it is recommended to add more peat to the soil and maintain moisture to ensure more abundant blooming and optimal growth.
