Blooming: Multicolored inflorescences appearing at the tips of the shoots. The individual flowers are bell-shaped, yellow-white in color. The leaves are large, leathery, and shiny. They do not fall off in winter, decorating the shrub all year round. During frost, they curl into a tube. Depending on the variety, blooming occurs in April, May, and early June. After flowering, it is important to remove the forming fruit clusters as soon as possible.

Cultivation: The shrub is quite easy to grow but has some specific requirements and needs proper care. Rhododendrons are sensitive to frost, so it's a good idea to cover them with coniferous branches during winter, and in cooler regions, protect them with straw mats. The best time to plant rhododendrons is in spring; from March to mid-May, but container plants can be planted until autumn. When planting, it's good to add an appropriate amount of peat to the soil. They like humid air and moderate temperatures with little fluctuation. The shrubs do not need pruning, only damaged branches should be removed. It's important to remove faded flowers, as the fruits weaken the plant.

Soil: Rhododendrons belong to the heath family, so they prefer loose, sandy-humus, acidic soil with moderate moisture. A good addition to the soil is oak leaves, beech leaves, or composted needles. Rhododendron roots are delicate and shallow, so it’s best to mulch the soil under the shrub with pine bark to prevent other plants from taking their water.

Position: Sheltered and protected from the wind. They prefer partial shade or even shaded areas. It’s best to plant rhododendrons in groups, as they create a favorable microclimate for themselves. These shrubs should not be planted near walls, as the soil may contain lime residues, which they do not tolerate.

Application: For gardens; planted in groups, they look very impressive. They look best against the backdrop of coniferous trees and shrubs. They can also be planted under large trees.
