The Rhododendron ‘Fridoline’, also known as Azalea ‘Fridoline’, originates from Japan. It is a small, wide shrub that blooms abundantly in late May to early June. It grows to only 30-40 cm in height and about 70 cm in width. Rhododendrons should be planted in slightly shaded, wind-sheltered locations. They should be planted in acidic (pH = 4.5-5.5), humus-rich, and well-draining soil. Rhododendrons should be planted in spring and watered regularly.
The Rhododendron 'Fridoline', also known as Azalea 'Fridoline', originates from Japan. It is a small, wide shrub that blooms abundantly in late May to early June. It grows to only 30-40 cm in height and about 70 cm in width.
Flowering: 'Fridoline' has funnel-shaped small flowers, darker in the center, gathered at the tips of the branches. Additionally, they do not fade in the sun. The rhododendron, with its dark green leaves in summer and red-brown coloring in autumn, which stay on the plant through winter, decorates the garden all year round.
Soil: The plant requires acidic soils with a pH of 4-5.5. The substrate should be moist but well-draining and contain plenty of organic matter. After planting the shrubs, the soil surface can be mulched with pine bark, which will reduce water evaporation, weed growth, and protect the roots from freezing.
Exposure: The shrubs should be planted in a sheltered, wind-protected location as they are not fully frost-resistant.
