Application: A plant recommended for cultivation both near fences and in containers on terraces or balconies, as well as in conservatories. It clings to supports with tendrils. Support is necessary when growing against walls. It produces edible fruits called passion fruits, rich in vitamin C, whose pulp is used to make juices, jams, smoothies, and delicious fruit cocktails.

Flowering and Fruiting: The flowers are flat, with purple-lavender petals and very decorative long external stamens with color-changing markings forming colorful rings. It blooms from June to September. The flowers are lightly fragrant. The fruits, known as passion fruits, are orange-yellow, round in shape, slightly sour, and perfect for fruit cocktails.

Position: Requires sheltered, warm, sunny locations. Best planted near south or west-facing walls. Strongly sun-exposed areas are ideal.

Care: Requires fertile, moist, garden soil, well-drained. In hot summers, water 1-2 times a week to keep the root ball consistently moist. Frost damages the top shoots. The plant should be covered with straw for winter. Pots with seedlings should be moved to a warmer, bright room with temperatures between 5-12°C. With proper care, the plant can reach 1m in height in 6-8 months. During the dormancy period, leaves often fall. However, new shoots emerge in spring. After dormancy, prune to 4-8 buds and replace the soil.

Pruning: Passionflower blooms profusely on side shoots, so the main shoot should be pruned beforehand. It is recommended to cut all frozen and undesirable shoots in April. Shortening the shoots by one-third stimulates faster growth.
