It forms dense clumps of arching, cascading leaves. The inflorescences usually appear after three years of cultivation. The plumes are silver-grey in colour and reach up to 40 cm in length.
Pampas Grass Evita blooms from July until late autumn. It prefers sunny, warm locations sheltered from strong, cold winds. It does not tolerate waterlogging, which causes the plant to rot and die.
The soil should be fertile and well-drained. This grass is frost-sensitive and should be protected for winter. When grown in containers, it should be stored during winter in a cool, bright place, such as a garden shed, cellar or terrace.
In spring, cut it back low to the ground.
