Pampas Grass ‘Selloana’ is one of the most beautiful and impressive ornamental grasses. It grows up to 2 metres tall, and its plumes reach up to 1 metre. The grass has creamy inflorescences. Pampas grass thrives best in light, well‑drained soil. It grows well in sunny locations sheltered from strong and cold winds. It is very sensitive to frost. A good solution is to plant it in a container and move it to a cool place for winter, where the temperature stays between 0–10 °C. If planted in the ground, it must be properly protected. Create a mound of peat, dry leaves or sawdust, then tie the long leaves at the top to form a protective bundle. Above the tied plant, build a small roof to protect it from rain and snow. It is perfect for gravel beds and rock gardens. It looks great when planted in groups. It is also suitable for decorative containers on terraces or balconies.
