Ornamental climber from New Zealand with tasty red mini kiwi fruits, perfectly suited to the Polish climate. A beautiful addition to any garden. It grows vigorously, reaching 8–10 m (2–3 m per year). To bear fruit, the plant needs a pollinator, preferably a variety such as kiwi Issai, Male or Weiki. Prefers a sunny, warm, and sheltered position. The soil should be fertile and moist. The best planting time for mini kiwi is late spring or autumn, but not later than mid-October. Young plants should be protected from frost.
An ornamental climber from New Zealand with tasty red mini kiwi fruits, well suited to the Polish climate zone. It decorates every garden. It grows vigorously, reaching 8–10 m (2–3 m per year). Kiwi fruits are very healthy, fat-free, rich in potassium and various micronutrients, including zinc, and are very high in vitamins, especially vitamin C. Fruits of hardy kiwi contain 4 times more vitamin C than lemons!
Flowering: In June, white flowers, female variety, very prolific. The fruits are very tasty, sweet, durable, and can be eaten with the skin. They ripen in September–October, are quite large, beautiful, and red. Begins fruiting in the 3rd–4th year after planting. Pollinators can include varieties like 'Issai' or male plants such as 'Male Pollinator'.
Exposure: South, west, east.
Care: Thrives in Polish climatic conditions. In winter, young plants can be mulched to protect the lower parts from severe frost. Prune in late autumn or winter (before vegetation starts). Tolerates average soils but prefers fertile, fairly rich, and not too dry soils (best with organic fertilization). Sunny site recommended.
Planting: Twines around all supports, suitable for planting near arbors, pergolas, fences, poles, home gardens, allotments, and for commercial plantations.
