One of the most beautiful ornamental plants. It originates from the United States. It is a tall shrub with a rounded habit, growing up to about 3–4 m. It blooms in spring before the leaves appear. The flowers are single, large, dark pink on the outside, pink on the inside, and develop at the ends of the shoots. The leaves are light green and fall off in winter. Magnolia does not like strong and cold winds; it prefers a sheltered and quiet spot. It does not tolerate pruning, but you can remove dry leaves and dead shoots. It prefers fertile and slightly acidic soil.

Use: Suitable for any garden, it looks best as a single specimen.
Blooming: Blooms annually from late April to May.
Exposure: Southern, in a quiet, warm, and sheltered location.
Care: Magnolia requires fertile, slightly acidic soil rich in nutrients. Due to its rather shallow root system, plant it not too deep in soil mixed with compost. Mulch with pine bark to a thickness of about 5 cm. It is worth fertilizing with special preparations for acid-loving plants. It does not tolerate drought, so regular and fairly abundant watering is essential. In winter, cover and mound young seedlings.
Pruning: Does not like pruning. Only dry, dead shoots can be removed.
