The name of this magnolia comes from the characteristic shape of its flowers in full bloom, resembling stars. A bush with a rounded habit, growing up to about 3 meters.
Application: Recommended for small gardens.
Blooming: It starts in mid-April. White, full, large, and delicately fragrant flowers appear before the leaves develop.
Exposure: Southern, the best spot is a sheltered, warm, and protected place.
Care: Magnolia requires fertile, slightly acidic, nutrient-rich soil. Due to its relatively shallow root system, it should be planted not too deep in soil mixed with compost. Mulch with pine bark to a thickness of about 5 cm. It is advisable to fertilize it with special fertilizers for acid-loving plants. It does not tolerate drought well, so it needs regular and quite abundant watering. Cover and mound young plants in winter.
Pruning: Does not like pruning. Only dry, dead stems can be removed.
