The name of this magnolia comes from the characteristic shape of the flowers in full bloom, resembling stars. A shrub with a round shape, growing up to about 3 meters.
Application: Recommended for small gardens.
Blooming: Starts in mid-April. White, full, large, and delicately fragrant flowers appear before the leaves develop.
Exposure: Southern, the best place for it is a sheltered, warm, and protected spot.
Care: Magnolia requires fertile, slightly acidic, nutrient-rich soil. Due to its relatively shallow root system, it should be planted not too deeply in soil mixed with compost. Mulch with pine bark to a depth of about 5 cm. It is worth fertilizing it with special preparations for acid-loving plants. It does not tolerate drought well, so it should be watered regularly and fairly abundantly. In winter, cover and mound the plants.
Pruning: Does not like pruning. Only dry, dead stems can be removed.
