The name of this magnolia comes from the characteristic shape of the flowers in full bloom, resembling stars. A shrub with a round habit, reaching about 3.5 m in height.
Application: Recommended for small gardens.
Blooming: It begins in early April. White, full, large, and fragrant flowers appear before the leaves develop.
Exposure: Southern, the best spot is a sheltered, warm, and protected location.
Care: Magnolia requires fertile, slightly acidic, nutrient-rich soil. Due to its shallow root system, it should be planted not too deep in a substrate mixed with compost. Mulch with pine bark to a thickness of about 5 cm. It is worth fertilizing with special products for acid-loving plants. It does not tolerate drought well, so regular and quite abundant watering is necessary. In winter, cover and mound up the young plants.
Pruning: It does not like pruning. Only dry, dead shoots can be removed.
