Japanese variety of magnolia distinguished by the highest resistance to unfavorable weather conditions and air pollution. It takes the form of a tree (up to 10 m tall) with a wide pyramidal crown.

Application: It is most commonly recommended for large gardens and for individual plantings in parks and urban greenery.

Blooming: It blooms from April to May. The flowers are creamy-yellow, fully open. The leaves develop after the flowers appear.

Exposure: Southern, a sheltered, warm, and protected place is ideal.

Care: Magnolia requires fertile, slightly acidic soil rich in nutrients, although this variety will also tolerate neutral or slightly alkaline soil. Due to its rather shallow root system, it should be planted not too deeply in a compost-mixed substrate. Mulch with pine bark about 5 cm thick. It does not tolerate drought well, so regular and fairly abundant watering is important. In winter, cover and mound young seedlings, while older plants are fully frost-resistant.

Pruning: Does not like pruning. Only dry, dead shoots should be removed.
