One of the easiest magnolias to grow, very grateful and the most frost-resistant of all varieties. A spreading shrub with a regular crown, it can grow up to 4 meters in height.
Application: Suitable for any garden, but also for urban green planting.
Flowering: Long and abundant, it starts in April and lasts until May. The magnolia is adorned with bell-shaped, pleasantly scented flowers in a dark amaranth color.
Exposure: South, the best place for it is a sheltered, warm, and protected spot.
Care: Magnolia requires fertile, slightly acidic soil rich in nutrients. Due to its shallow root system, it should be planted not too deeply in a soil mixed with compost. Mulch with pine bark to a thickness of about 5 cm. It is worth fertilizing it with special preparations for acid-loving plants. It does not tolerate drought well, so regular and quite abundant watering is necessary. Young seedlings should be covered and hilled for winter, while older ones do not require this.
Pruning: Magnolias do not tolerate pruning well. Only dry, dead shoots can be removed.
