This variety prefers a sunny or slightly shaded position. It does not like cold and strong winds. Like other grasses, it requires little care and is resistant to pests and diseases. It thrives best in fertile, well-drained, moderately moist soil. It requires warm, sheltered locations. Dead leaves should be cut in early spring.
It is a frost-resistant grass, but young plants should be covered for the winter. During the growing season, the plants should be watered generously and fertilized. After a few years, it is good to divide the clumps to rejuvenate the plants.
