An interesting variety of ornamental grass, it grows to about 50 - 60 cm in height, and during flowering reaches about 100 cm. The leaves are dark green, narrow, and slightly arching. In autumn, they change color to yellow and then to beige. Flower heads appear in the second half of summer – from August until the end of the growing season. The fountain grass has dark flowers in a dark purple or even black color. The grass blooms for a long time and is very impressive.

This variety prefers a sunny or slightly shaded location. It does not like cold and strong winds. Like other grasses, it requires little maintenance and is resistant to pests and diseases. It thrives best in fertile, well-drained, moderately moist soil. It requires warm, sheltered spots. Dead leaves should be cut back in early spring.

It is frost-resistant, but young plants should be well covered for winter. During the growing season, plants should be watered generously and fertilized. After a few years, it is a good idea to divide the clumps, which will rejuvenate the plants.
