Inflorescences are flat, lacecap-like, with a center filled with small fertile flowers that are pale pink before opening and later turn pink, violet, or blue, surrounded by large, showy sterile flowers in lilac-pink or blue shades. These flowers are set on long stalks. They appear on last year’s shoots, from late July to September, both on strong main stems and smaller side branches. The flower color depends on soil pH: acidic soils produce more blue tones, while slightly acidic to neutral soils yield lilac and pink shades. Flowers form in the summer of the previous year, so shoots should not be pruned in spring – only old, frozen, and dry stems should be removed. This variety is recommended for fertile, consistently moderately moist, and well-drained soils. During flowering, it requires high water intake. Grows best in semi-shaded locations sheltered from wind.
