Vanille Fraise hydrangea is a very decorative panicle variety. The shrub has an upright habit and reaches about 2 m in height and 1.5 m in width. It is characterized by red stems and beautiful large flowers reaching up to 40 cm in length. These flowers, initially white, quickly turn pink. The plant is completely frost-resistant.

Care and requirements: Prefers a sunny to slightly shaded position, sheltered from the wind, and light, humus-rich soil with a slightly acidic pH. It also develops well in average garden soil. Hydrangeas should be planted in a moist location, and during drought, they should be watered abundantly. Fertilization should be done with acidifying fertilizers, best alternated.

Blooming: The hydrangea blooms on one-year-old shoots, producing very numerous, huge (up to 40 cm) beautiful flowers. Initially, they are white, but their color quickly changes to an intense pink and even red. It blooms profusely from July to October. The leaves of this variety are rough, serrated, and green, decorating the shrub before it is covered with flowers.

Pruning: Flowers appear on young shoots, so pruning should be done in early spring, shortening the stems by 1/3 of their length. Rejuvenating pruning aims to remove old and dry stems. Every few years, it is recommended to cut the plants down to 30-50 cm above the ground to renew them.

Application: This is a very striking shrub that blooms beautifully for a long time. It can be planted in gardens, where it looks interesting against a lawn. Hydrangea flowers are perfect as cut flowers. When dried, they can be used to create "dry bouquets." It also looks beautiful in oriental gardens. It can be planted individually or in groups.
