Conditions and requirements – for growing Syrian Hibiscus Ardens, it is best to choose a sunny, warm, and wind-sheltered location. It grows well in fertile, humus-rich, and well-drained soil with a pH ranging from slightly acidic to alkaline. The shrub requires a moderately moist position. When planted in poor soils, the shrub blooms very poorly.

Care – the shrub requires constant but moderate watering. During drought, brown spots appear on the leaves. Syrian Hibiscus Ardens is a slow-growing variety, so it does not require pruning. It is recommended to perform rejuvenation pruning in March or April, removing old shoots. Syrian Hibiscus is a heat-loving plant and poorly resistant to frost. Therefore, during the winter, the shrub needs to be covered. The most vulnerable to freezing are young shrubs. To protect the plant, a mound of dry leaves or needles should be placed at the base of the shrub, and the soil should be mounded to a height of about 30 cm. During the blooming period, it is recommended to fertilize the shrubs, preferably with organic fertilizers.

Use – due to its lush, long blooming and, above all, beautiful flowers, it is best to plant Syrian Hibiscus Ardens in prominent places in gardens and parks. It is also suitable as a potted plant, which allows it to decorate balconies and terraces.
It looks stunning when planted individually or in groups with other plants. It is successfully used as an informal hedge.
