A multi-stemmed shrub from the birch family with a broom-like habit. Grows up to 5 m tall. Leaves are alternate, simple, turning yellow and brown in autumn and falling in winter. Hazel prefers sunny, warm or semi-shaded locations. It likes sheltered spots.

A multi-stemmed shrub from the birch family with a broom-like shape. Grows up to 5 m tall. Leaves are alternate, simple, turning yellow and brown in autumn. Deciduous.

Use: Suitable for single plantings or in groups, great for tall hedges.

Flowering and fruiting: The earliest blooming woody plant in Poland – blooms in February. Male flowers are yellow catkins; female flowers appear in pairs with visible pink stigmas. Produces edible hazelnuts, harvested in September–October.

Care: Tolerates most soils, prefers slightly acidic, well-drained soil. Grows best in sun or partial shade.

Pruning: No pruning required.
