Flowering and fruiting: The earliest blooming woody plant in Poland – blooms in February. Male flowers are yellow catkins; female flowers appear in pairs with visible pink stigmas. Produces edible hazelnuts, harvested in September–October.
Care: Tolerates most soils, prefers slightly acidic, well-drained soil. Grows best in sun or partial shade.
