A very frost-hardy and productive honeyberry up to 1.8 m tall. Large, tasty fruits ripen already in May. Undemanding, but avoid heavy clay and very light soils. Yields up to 5 kg per shrub.
A long-lived fruit shrub (up to 35 years), growing up to 1.8 m in height, with a compact, rounded habit. It flowers already in early April with white-yellow flowers. A productive, early-fruiting variety with tasty, large fruits, undemanding and extremely frost-hardy – it tolerates frosts down to -45°C! A plant ideal for cultivation in cold climates.
Use: The fruits can be eaten fresh, but are also excellent for preserves, juices, jams and confitures; they can also be dried or frozen. They contain a lot of vitamin C and A, as well as iron, iodine and copper.
Fruiting: The berries are dark blue, very large, elongated in shape, with a taste similar to blueberries or wild bilberries. It fruits already in May. Up to 5 kg of fruit can be harvested from one shrub.
Care: A low-maintenance plant. It prefers slightly acidic, sandy-loam soils, but also grows well in neutral and alkaline soils. Requires sunny or lightly shaded positions. Exceptionally resistant to drought and frost (down to -45°C). It is recommended to plant at least two different varieties next to each other to ensure proper pollination.
