A long-lived fruit shrub (up to 35 years), growing up to 1.8 m in height with a compact, rounded habit. It flowers at the beginning of April, with white-yellow blossoms. A high-yielding, early-fruiting variety. ‘Woloszebnica’ is vigorous and tends to form dense growth. It is an excellent pollinator for the varieties ‘Sinoglaska’ and ‘Czelabinka’. It has no high soil requirements, but clay and very light soils should be avoided. It is frost-resistant. The plant does not tolerate competition from weeds, so proper site preparation is very important. At full fruiting, a single shrub can yield up to 5 kg of fruit.
A long-lived fruit shrub, living up to 35 years, growing up to 1.8 m in height with a compact, rounded habit. It flowers at the beginning of April, with white-yellow blossoms. This is a high-yielding, early-fruiting, low-maintenance and extremely frost-resistant variety, tolerating temperatures down to -45°C. The plant is ideal for cultivation in Polish climate conditions.
Use: The fruits can be eaten straight from the bush. They are also suitable for preserves, juices, jams, confitures, and can be dried or frozen. They contain high levels of vitamins C and A as well as iron, iodine and copper.
Fruiting: Very large, elongated, dark blue berries with a flavour similar to American blueberry or wild bilberry. Fruits ripen already in May. One shrub can yield up to 5 kg of fruit.
Care: A low-maintenance plant. Requires slightly acidic, sandy-loamy soils, but also grows well in neutral and alkaline soils. Prefers sunny or slightly shaded positions. Extremely resistant to drought and frost (down to -45°C). It is recommended to plant at least two different varieties next to each other to ensure proper pollination.
Pruning: In the first years pruning is not necessary. Only after 5–6 years should annual rejuvenation pruning be carried out by removing the oldest shoots, especially those lying on the ground, overly dense or damaged.
