The Honeyberry 'Leningradskij Velikan' is a variety growing up to 2 meters in height, with a round, compact habit. It blooms in early April, with white-yellow flowers. This variety is fruitful, early fruiting, with strong growth and a tendency to become denser. It has low soil requirements but should avoid clayey or overly light soils. It is frost-resistant. The berry does not tolerate weed competition, so proper site preparation for planting is essential. During full fruiting, one shrub can yield up to 6 kg of fruit. The fruits are cylindrical, elongated, dark blue with a lighter waxy coating, sweet and aromatic.

Care – it is recommended to plant at least 2 different varieties next to each other to ensure proper pollination. This variety is exceptionally easy to grow, resistant to diseases and pests. It withstands very extreme conditions, from severe frosts to long droughts. The Honeyberry grows quickly, so its growth can be controlled by pruning branches in spring. Thinning and maintenance pruning should be done after 3-4 years.

Uses – thanks to the vitamins and anthocyanins in the fruits, they have antiseptic properties. They are recommended for problems with the circulatory system and atherosclerosis of blood vessels. They contain vitamins C, A, iron, copper, and iodine. They have a very good effect on eyesight. The fruits are perfect for desserts and preserves and can also be frozen.
