Boskoop Glory is one of the most sought-after grapevine varieties with dark blue clusters. It is a variety of probably American origin. A healthy and frost-hardy variety, tolerating frosts down to -26°C. Perfectly suitable for wine production!
Use: The fruits are suitable for direct consumption and for wine production. A medium to well-yielding variety, reaching a height of 3 to 5 metres. Eating grapes strengthens the body's resistance to infections. Grapes also contain vitamin A, which has a beneficial effect on eyesight, and B vitamins, which help reduce stress. They also contain iron and iodine, which regulate thyroid function.
Fruiting: From the end of September to the beginning of October. The berries are medium-sized, sweet and very aromatic.
Care: At the beginning of November, mound the vines with soil (or peat), forming a mound about 30 cm high over each plant and protecting several of the lowest buds. In the first year after planting, train the plant to one shoot. Plant 10–15 cm deeper than it grew in the pot. Smaller plants should be planted in a hollow and covered with soil only in autumn. This method significantly increases the frost resistance of the vines. It prefers a sunny position.
Pruning: Pruning in subsequent years depends on the chosen training and pruning method.
