Goji berries play an important role in Chinese medicine, as almost every herbal remedy for eye health contains them. The largest Goji berries. They increase endurance, stimulate the immune system, improve blood circulation, delay the effects of aging, and lower blood pressure. The Chinese Wolfberry is a highly branched shrub with a drooping habit, growing to a height of 1-2 meters.
The Chinese Wolfberry has low cultivation requirements. It grows best in fertile, well-drained soils. The plant cannot tolerate clayey or waterlogged soil. It should be pruned every spring to encourage better branching.
Use: Goji can be grown in our climate, easily propagated from seeds or (more difficult) from cuttings. They are drought-resistant, withstand frosts down to -26°C, and covering the roots with organic mulch increases their frost resistance.
Fruit and flowering: It blooms from June until the first frost, continuously producing flowers and fruits.
Caring: It is not a demanding plant and will thrive in almost any soil with good drainage. It prefers a location in full sun or partial shade, although it fruits better in full sun.
Pruning: It requires fairly heavy pruning.
