A beautifully blooming ornamental shrub, sometimes already from mid-April. The leaves are healthy, shiny, dark green. The fruits are numerous, hard, often used for preserves. Very tolerant, prefers sunny, warm, sheltered places. A low, spreading shrub with widely spread branches. It likes a warm, sunny position but also does well in partial shade. It has no special soil requirements. The soil should be moderately fertile and moist.

Use: grows to a height of 60-120cm. Spacing 50cm.

Fruit and flowering: numerous, hard, fragrant, greenish-yellow fruits with red spots, apple-shaped, ripening in autumn and can be used for jams and jellies. The fruiting period is September. It blooms in early spring, sometimes from mid-April. The flowers are orange, single, blooming before the leaves develop, collected in groups. The leaves fall off in winter.

Care: Requires a lot of light. No special requirements, tolerates many types of soil, though it prefers moist ones.

Pruning: Suitable for low hedges, borders, and small gardens. Can be used in public greenery as a ground cover plant.
