One of the most interesting varieties due to its very abundant blooming and vitality. This large shrub or small tree growing up to 2-3 m in height is a self-pollinating, highly fruiting variety. It grows well in a warm, sunny position, sheltered from the wind. It prefers fertile, humus-rich, and well-drained soil. Care should be taken not to over-fertilize, as this will cause it to drop its fruits.

Common Fig 'Brown Turkey' / Ficus carica 'Brown Turkey'

One of the most interesting varieties due to its abundant blooming and vitality. This large shrub or small tree growing up to 2-3 m in height is a self-pollinating, highly fruiting variety.

Application: In Polish climatic conditions, the fig should be grown in a pot on a terrace or balcony for the first 2-3 years. The pot can also be buried in the ground.

Blooming and Fruiting: It blooms before the leaves develop, with small yellow flowers in March-April. The fruits are very large, purple-brown in color with pink flesh, and have a distinctive, strong taste. The leaves are also attractive, very large, slightly concave, and jagged. The fruits ripen by the end of September, and with proper fertilization, they reach large sizes.

Care: Plant in a sunny, sheltered position. Soil requirements: likes permeable, humus-rich soil that is rich in minerals. However, care should be taken not to over-fertilize, as this will reduce the fruit yield. Proper watering is very important during the growth period, but should be reduced when the fruits are ripening to prevent them from cracking. The plant can be planted in the ground after 2-3 years of cultivation when it has developed a thick trunk. When planted in the ground, it should be well-protected for winter by covering its base with a layer of bark and its shoots with agrotextile. A plant in a pot should be moved to a bright, cool place where the temperature does not fall below 5°C. Watering should be limited in winter.

Pruning: It can be pruned in the spring, but should not be done in the fall due to sap flow during this time.
