A spreading shrub that grows to 2-3 meters in height and width. It is completely frost-resistant, drought-tolerant, and resistant to air pollution. Dogwood is often planted in new residential areas.
Application: This variety can be planted individually or in groups. It is suitable for wide espaliered forms or informal hedges. It stands out beautifully in home gardens. Due to its resistance to pollution, it is planted in green spaces in cities.
Blooming and Fruiting: The leaves are variegated with intense green hues, further decorated with large, white borders of irregular contour. At the beginning of September, the leaf petioles and later the shoots turn red and remain so throughout the winter, making the shrub look very attractive even after losing its leaves. The flowers and fruits are rather inconspicuous.
Care: Dogwood grows best in wet or peat-rich soils, rich in nutrients. It also tolerates sandy and clay soils. It colors most beautifully when grown in full sun, but also looks good in partial shade.
Pruning: Dogwood should be pruned in spring, immediately after the leaves appear. This procedure rejuvenates the plant. You can cut out several of the oldest shoots.
