Lagerstroemia has attractive, showy panicle flowers. The inflorescences resemble lilac flowers, which is why it is called "Crape Myrtle".

The flowers remain on the tree for three to four months. In our climate, it blooms only at the end of summer, which is extremely impressive for a shrub.

The plant has the shape of a small tree or a large shrub with a spreading crown. In our climate, it grows up to 2-3 meters in height.

In addition to its flowers, Lagerstroemia is also ornamented with small oval leaves that turn yellow in the fall.

The plant tolerates moderate frosts (around -18°C) but prefers a warmer climate. It should be planted in a sheltered location, away from strong and cold winds.

It should be planted in the ground in spring. Both young trees and older ones need to be sheltered for the winter, and the soil should be mulched with a thick layer of bark.
