It grows to 1.5–2 m, forming an elegant, delicate climber with exceptionally large flowers. The plant is fully frost‑hardy in our climate and blooms abundantly throughout the summer. Flowers and flowering • Colour: bluish‑white petals, beige anthers • Size: large, showy flowers • Flowering period: June – September • Pruning group: light pruning (group 2) The flowers appear for a long time and in regular cycles, making this variety an excellent decoration throughout the season. Uses Clematis ‘Valge Daam’ is perfect for: • containers on balconies and terraces • covering arbours, pergolas, fences, trellises, and stakes • growing on natural supports such as trees and shrubs • small gardens where strong effect is needed in limited space A perfect choice for those seeking a delicate, light‑coloured clematis with a long flowering period. Position • Exposure: any – sunny, semi‑shaded, or lightly shaded • Soil: fertile, humus‑rich, airy, calcium‑rich • pH: 6–7 The base of the plant should be shaded, while the shoots should grow toward the light. Planting and care • plant 5 cm deeper than it grew in the pot • keep at least 30 cm distance from walls and other plants • mulch the soil around the plant with bark • shade the base with low plants • before winter, mound bark 10–20 cm high • fertilise regularly from April • water intensively during the growing season Pruning February–March: remove dead and diseased shoots Lightly prune healthy shoots: • 1st year: 30 cm above ground • 2nd year: 70 cm • following years: approx. 150 cm
