A wonderful, strong, healthy and moderately vigorous (2–3 m) botanical variety with original red‑scarlet, tulip‑shaped flowers. In autumn and winter it is covered with decorative seed heads that beautifully adorn the garden. Successfully cultivated throughout Poland, frost‑resistant and low‑maintenance.
Application: It climbs beautifully over pergolas, fences, walls, gazebos, trellises and natural supports such as coniferous and deciduous trees, shrubs and subshrubs.
Flowering: From early July to the end of August.
Exposure: Any.
Care: Plant the clematis 5 cm deeper than it grew in the pot and at least 30 cm away from other plants or walls. Mulch the soil around the plant with bark. Shade the base with low shrubs and before winter cover it with bark up to 10–20 cm. It grows best in fertile, humus‑rich, calcium‑rich (pH 6–7) and well‑aerated soils. Fertilize from April and water intensively during the growing season.
Pruning: As a herbaceous clematis, last year’s shoots usually die back, so in March they should be cut down to ground level.
