“Miss Bateman” delights with large, white, star‑shaped flowers, sometimes decorated with a green stripe. These flowers have exceptionally large, red‑brown stamens. This clematis blooms from May to June and often flowers again between August and September. This variety is very frost‑resistant and blooms extremely abundantly.
Care and requirements:
It prefers sunny locations (with shaded roots). It is moderately demanding and grows best in fertile, humus‑rich, well‑drained but not overly wet soil. From April, regular fertilizing is recommended. The Miss Bateman variety is exceptionally frost‑resistant.
Flowering:
A very beautiful and abundantly flowering variety. From May to June it produces numerous large (12–15 cm), white, star‑shaped flowers, sometimes with a green stripe. It blooms again around August. During the growing season, strong watering is recommended. Flowers appear on last year’s shoots, so pruning should be avoided.
Planting:
When planting, ensure that the lower part of the vine is shaded, e.g., by taller shrubs. Mulching with bark is recommended to prevent weeds and soil drying.
Pruning:
Light pruning is recommended in late autumn or early spring. Remove damaged or dead shoots and shorten the rest by about 20 cm.
