A stunning ground cover variety also suitable for borders. Clematis ‘Alba’ grows up to approx. 3 m. Thrives across our climate zone. Blooms beautifully from July to September. Looks impressive on pergolas, arbors, fences, and trellises. Prefers sunny, warm or semi-shaded locations, sheltered from cold winds. Soil should be fertile, humus-rich, moist, pH 6.0–7.0. Fully frost hardy.
Beautiful ground cover variety, also suitable for planting in flower beds. Clematis 'Alba' grows up to about 1 m in height. It thrives in all climate zones of our region.
Use: When planted in borders, ‘Alba’ requires supports. On rock gardens, it cascades attractively. Up to 5 plants per 1 m² are recommended.
Flowering: The flowers are relatively large, bell-shaped, and white. Blooming begins in June and lasts until September. From July to October, decorative fluffy seed heads appear. The plant has creeping stems that do not climb but may lean on supports.
Care: Prefers a sunny or semi-shaded position. Requires fertile, well-drained, and consistently moderately moist soil.
Pruning: Blooms on current-year shoots, so prune hard in late February to March. First year – 30 cm above ground, second year – 40 cm, later years – 50 cm.
