Use: Perfectly climbs pergolas, fences, walls, arbors, trellises, and natural supports like coniferous and deciduous trees, shrubs, and bushes. Also great as a ground cover.
Flowering: April to end of May, followed by decorative seed heads.
Position: Any exposure.
Care: Plant 10 cm deeper than in the pot, at least 30 cm from other plants or walls. Mulch around the base with bark. Shade the base with low shrubs and cover with bark (10–20 cm high) before winter. Grows best in fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil with calcium (pH 6–7). Fertilize from April and water generously during the season.
Pruning: Do not prune – it blooms on old wood. Only trim after flowering if needed, but not lower than 1 m from the ground.
