A very attractive, moderately vigorous variety (2–3 m) with stunning, large, bi-colored flowers: dark pink with white edges and red anthers. Abundant flowering. The plant looks beautiful in gardens as well as in containers on balconies or terraces. Frost-resistant and low-maintenance.
Use: Perfect for climbing over pergolas, fences, walls, arbors, trellises, and natural supports like coniferous or deciduous trees, shrubs, and subshrubs.
Flowering: From May until the end of August.
Position: East, west, north.
Care: Plant 5 cm deeper than it was growing in the pot and at least 30 cm away from other plants or walls. Mulch the soil around the plant with bark. Shade the base with low shrubs; before winter, cover with bark up to 10–20 cm. Best grown in fertile, humus-rich, calcium-rich (pH 6–7), well-aerated soil. Fertilize from April and water generously during the growing season.
Pruning: Blooms on last year’s shoots — in late February to March, remove dead and diseased stems and lightly prune healthy ones: 30 cm in the first year, 70 cm in the second, and 150 cm in subsequent years.
