A reliable, old and proven variety bred in England, successfully cultivated throughout Poland. Very healthy and extremely hardy, grows vigorously up to 2–3 m and blooms abundantly with beautiful large violet-blue flowers with green stamens. The plant looks stunning both in the garden and in containers on balconies or terraces.
Use: Climbs beautifully on pergolas, fences, walls, arbors, trellises, and natural supports such as coniferous and deciduous trees, shrubs, and subshrubs. Grows very well in large containers on balconies, terraces, and in small gardens.
Flowering: From late June to October. BLOOMS RELIABLY, ABUNDANTLY, AND IS LOW-MAINTENANCE!!!
Position: Any.
Care: Plant clematis 5 cm deeper than it was growing in the pot and at least 30 cm from other plants or walls. Mulch the soil around the seedling with bark. Shade the base with low-growing plants, and before winter, cover with bark up to 10–20 cm high. Grows best in fertile, humus-rich, calcium-rich (pH 6–7), and well-aerated soil. Fertilize from April and water intensively during the growing season.
Pruning: This variety flowers on the current year's shoots, so prune hard in February–March. In the first year after planting: 30 cm above the ground over strong buds, in the second year: 40 cm, and in following years: 50 cm above the ground.
